Dr. Zhang Wenjiang

Dr. Zhang Wenjiang, born in 1957 in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of China, is the Assistant President of Shenhua Group.

Dr. Zhang has been successively named as mining engineer, chief engineer, coal mine manager and director of bureau of mines.

Dr. Zhang successively acted as Chairman of Ningxia Taixi Group Corporation from 200 to 2002, President of Ningxia Coal Industry Group Company from 2003 to 2005, Chairman of Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group Company from 2006 to 2007, before becoming Assistant President of Shenhua Group Corporation in January 2008.

During his tenure of Chairman of Taixi Group, Dr Zhang took the lead in China developing of coal liquefaction and chemical industry and structuring a detailed strategic plan and project implementation scheme, which finally led to the current large scale construction of Ningdong Coal Chemical Base.

Dr. Zhang holds a PhD in engineering science from Shandong University of Science and Technology.
