Fred du Plessis

Fred du Plessis is President of FdP Associates, a management consultancy focused on strategy, business development and supply chain in the chemical industry.

He started his career in 1982 with the Sasol Group as a Process Engineer, Production Manager, Export Manager, Business Development Manager, and Manager for New Products and New Markets, with assignments in supply chain strategy in Singapore, Houston, and North West Europe. Since 1998 he had served as CEO of New Dimensions Consulting, Vice President of the Industrial Investment Council of the New German States, Managing Director of NDC International, Senior Vice President Europe of Kline and Co and Director of Kline Consulting Europe Limited.

He holds two Bachelors of Science in Applied Chemistry and in Chemical Engineering from the University of Natal (1981) and an MBA from the University of South Africa (1990).

Fred is President of the European Chemical Marketing and Strategy Association (ECMSA) and of the European Chemical Site Promotion Platform (ECSPP).
