Dr. William L. E. Davey

Dr. Davey is Group Leader, Coal Gasification and CTL for Hatch (Ontario, Canada).

In a career spanning more than 35 years, Dr Davey’s central theme of experience has been Business Development in all the technologies required to convert coal into useful products.

He acquired his coal gasification experience supporting the third of three successive coal based ammonia plants operated by AECI Limited in South Africa. He added experience in gas purification and Fischer Tropsch technologies whilst working for Lurgi in Germany before joining Hatch in 2008.

Dr. Davey graduated from the University of Natal, Durban in 1969 with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He later obtained Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Chemical Engineering from the same University.
